Published on: Friday, September 07, 2018

Kota Kinabalu: Six tourism firms were fined by Sabah Parks under its Ops Pancing, for bringing tourists to Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman for fishing.

Sabah Parks Assistant Director Maipol Spait said some of the firms still did not follow the prescribed regulations set by Sabah Parks.

"We also found them letting tourists conduct activities in the park area such as parasailing and diving," he said.

The total amount of fines collected was RM3,500 and Ops Pancing would continue from time to time.

Maipol also said August saw the most tourists at Sabah Parks venues estimated at up to 3,000 people daily.
