Kota Kinabalu: The 2018 KBS Cub Prix Clinic organised by the State Ministry of Youth and Sports and Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd was successfully held in creating a platform for the youths to have motorsports as a career.

Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Arunarsin Taib said the clinic is a gateway in fostering sportsmanship among the youths which must be done regularly to create an impactful result in creating a healthy and quality lifestyle as well as creating a potential and great motorsports athlete.

"The youths must embrace proper motorsports in a positive note rather than straying towards activities that are illegal. "Motorsports should also be an activity to express themselves and to foster a better self-discipline, especially on public road while racers with strong potentials are encouraged to pursue motorsports as a career," he said in his speech during the closing of the 2018 KBS Cub Pri at Dewan Seri Putatan, Putatan, on Thursday.

According to Arunarnsin, the clinic was held around the country at 22 designated venues in order to search for young talents with potentials in the racing world.

He added that four of the best participants will be selected to represent the State in the preliminary stage at Tangkak Race Track, Johor, on December 22 and 23.

"For the past 25 years, two-wheeled motorsports have been growing at a fast rate and the achievements earned by Malaysian racers at international levels are a taste of what we can achieve.

"We have many young talents produced from the Cub Prix Clinic with strong potentials as they will be waiting for their turn to reveal their skills at higher levels," said Arunarsin.

Also present at the clinic were Federal Youth and Sports Department Director R Effendi Razali, Deputy Director Mahanum Fauzi, Permanent Secretary Datuk Awang Damit AG Anak, and Deputy Permanent Secretary Mat Jaidin Yassin.
