Merdeka solo run from Sipitang to KK

Kota Kinabalu: Sipitang Wira Warisan member Mohd Nooridhuan Awang, 30 will attempt a 150km solo run from Sipitang on Sept 13 with expected arrival at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu on Sept 16.The members for the mission comprise of its Leader Mohammad Norizhuan Awang, 28, Erwandy Awang Damit, 31 as the crew driver and runner Nooridhuan who will make several locations to give present contributions.According to Norizhuan, the solo run mission is aimed to spread the importance of unity message among races in the State aside from that it is also aimed to foster the love of nation among the youths in the country.

"We hope this mission will be appreciated by the youths on the importance of maintaining the harmony among races in the country, particularly Sabah in order to develop the State together," he said.Nooridhuan who is excited and looking for the mission said he is prepared as he has carried out training for about a month aside from having a healthy diet to gain the required stamina to succeed in the run.Meanwhile Sipitang Warisan Chief Mahadi Mumin who is also the advisor for the solo mission said he is proud with the efforts of Nooridhuan in his attempt to spread the message through a different method."The 2018 Malaysia Day Solo Run Mission is aimed to strengthen the bonds among different race in Sabah, in fact there are various ways to express the love of racial unity and one of them through such programme," Mahadi said.

He said the Solo Run Mission was also fully supported by Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob who is also the Education and Innovation Minister."Yusof will always support what is being done by youths, especially if it involves patriotism amongst these groups. For that, he is very pleased to officiate the solo run on Sept 13 which is scheduled to start from Sipitang," he added.
