ICYM lass aims male-dominated industry

Melaka: Having just graduated with a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Technology from the International College of Yayasan Melaka (ICYM), 22-year-old Gold Medal recipient Nur Irdina Hazirah Nor Zeland is out to prove that women can do well in the male-dominated aircraft maintenance industry.Although Nur Irdina received offers to study at local universities in the past, she eventually picked the aircraft maintenance course at ICYM because of her deep interest in the field. "And it is due to my strong ambition that I'm successful today, as I did in the past as a four-time Dean's List recipient," said Nur Irdina to Bernama after receiving her diploma at ICYM's 16th Convocation Ceremony at Ayer Keroh.ADVERTISEMENT A total of 718 ICYM graduates received their certificates and diplomas at the ceremony, officiated by the state's exco for Education, Science & Technology, Green Technology and Innovation, Noor Effendi Ahmad. Also present was ICYM chief executive officer, Datuk Saroni Judi.Nur Irdina, a former student of Sekolah Menengah Sains Seri Puteri in Kuala Lumpur, believed in diligently studying for her examinations in advance.
