No golds only four  silvers, nine bronzes
Kota Kinabalu: It was a disappointing outing for Sabah contingent at the 19th Sukma Games in Ipoh, Perak, on Tuesday as they failed to win any gold medal.They only managed four silver and nine bronze with the first silver won by long jumper Andre Anura Anuar in the morning session with his leap of 7.390 metre to finish second behind Abdul Latif Romly of Perak who recorded 7.46m .

Athletics also delivered another silver in the women 100m dash where Chelsea Cassiopea Evali Bopulas had to settle for second place despite running her best ever time in the distance with a time of 12.17s as Terengganu's Azreen Nabila Alias was way too quick with her new record time of 11.81s

The other two were won by record-breaking Kartina Dumin in the weightlifting women 69kg category.

Although she managed to lift 103 kilogramme (kg) in the Clean & Jerk and bettered the old Games record of 95kg , she was unable to beat Farhana Nabila Shamsudin of Kedah who set a new record with 104kg.

It was the same story in the Snatch, where both athletes managed to break the old mark of 75kg, but Farhana beat her to the gold by another kilogramme with her new record of 82kg.

The bronze were contributed by athletics duo of Ikma Syaffiera Duris who came third in the athletics women 100m in 12.28s , and Shahrimien Saimoh's third place finish in the men 400m with 47.44s.

Artistic gymnasts also delivered to two bronze within the individual event through Brandon Denley Luise and the team event with Brandon and Izzat Daniel Rauf, Ammar Zafi Firdaus, Charlie Richie Chong, Lazarus P Junius and Azre Nasir.

The other bronze came from squash player Farez Izwan Mukhtar in the singles after losing to Ng Eain Yow 4-11,6-11,4-11 in the semi-final, MuayThai exponent Amirah Syahirah Azlan in the women 54-57kg category, cyclist Mike Melson Florance in Men Downhill 1.5km , and the boxing duo of Arick Apar in the Light Fly (46-49) category where he lost his semi-final bout 2-3 to Amran Ghani of Kelantan , and Rayyan Rizqin Kassim who lost 0-5 to Hairul Hakimy Abdullah of Pahang in the Fly Weight (52kg) semi-final. - GL Oh
