Tshung Tsin symphony treat on Saturday
Kota Kinabalu: Tshung Tsin Secondary School's Wind Symphony will hold its concert dubbed "Fantasia 2018" at Yayasan Sabah's Tun Raffae Auditorium at 7.30pm on Saturday.According to its Deputy Director Xu Jingming, who is also the consultant of the band, this is the first large-scale performance by the band.

"The band members use their spare time after class to practice every day and strive to show the best performance for the public," he said.

Xu said the band's coaching staff also felt the positive attitude of the members where 11 tracks will be performed for members of the public on Saturday.

Tshung Tsin's orchestra was founded in 1977 and has been working for a total of 42 years.

The concert will be performed by 85 members of the school's Sunflower Choir.

The conductor is a famous conductor in Malaysia and also the Music Director of the group, Ho Chi Keung.

Ho graduated from the Dublin College of Music and the Royal College of Music, majoring in flute and conducting.

He has participated in numerous flute and conductor master classes in Europe and America, including those conducted by flute master James Galway and the late famous conductor master Frederick Finnell, among others.

The evening's performance will feature 11 tracks, divided into two halfs where the audience will be treated to classic like Disney characters such as The Lion King of the rainbow morale, the lovely and funny Mickey Mouse and friends, the composer of Snow White, and of course, the sporty Superman (Incredibles) and so on.

The Tshung Tsin choir has participated in the Singapore International Music Festival in 2012 and 2014 and won the gold medals on both occasions.

Last year, it participated in the Taiwan International Music Elite Tournament and won the Gold Medal Award. For more information, contact Xu at 088-254154.
