Kuala Lumpur: Both current and former badminton players from around the world expressed their sympathy and well wishes to former World No 1 Lee Chong Wei (pic) who is fighting early stage nose cancer.World No 1 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark said he is hoping to see his rival make a quick recovery and make a comeback to competitive badminton via his Instagram account, reported the New Straits Times."Get well soon Chong Wei. I hope your treatment goes well," said Axelsen, who lost to Chong Wei in their last meeting at the Malaysia Open in June.

Former Olympic gold medallist Taufik Hidayat echoed Axelsen's sentiments."To Chong Wei, I hope you get better everyday. I hope everything is positive throughout your treatment process," said Taufik, via his Instagram account.Chong Wei's former teammate and roommate Hafiz Hashim also uploaded a picture of himself with Chong Wei on his Instagram account."A few years ago we were roommates, training partners, good friends but at the same time enemies on the court," said the 2003 All England winner.
