Four Sabahans expected to do well
Kota Kinabalu: Four Sabahans are in with a chance to win at the 25th Asian Junior Individual Championship starting tomorrow (Wednesday) in Chennai, India.The players led by Lai Wen Li with Jessica Keng, Yee Xin Ying and Duncan Lee are among the 29-member national squad taking part in the annual competition.

Lai Wen Li is seeded top in the girls Under-19 category. Her opening round opponent is Tanay M Parakh and she is expected to meet fellow Malaysian and second seed Chan Yi Wen in the final.

Jessica who won the Under-15 title last year is seeded second in the Under-17 category and will open her campaign against India's Megha Bhatia and if all goes well, waiting for her in the final will be top seed Chan Si Yuk from Hong Kong.

In the girls Under-15 category, Yee Xin Ying who was given the second seed behind last year's Under-13 champion Aira Azman is given a bye in the opening round. She and Aira are expected to meet in the final.

Duncan, on the other hand is given the 3rd /4th seedings in the boys Under-17 category and he too was given a bye in the first round. – GL Oh
