'Form Six students have one foot in university'
Ranau: Form Six students must believe they will enter university because they have climbed the highest ladder of secondary school education, where failing is not an option.Benedict Gunda, the Political Secretary to Ranau MP Jonathan Yasin, said all Form Six students actually had one foot in the university, thus, they must never look back at different outcomes apart from being successful.

"All students who have reached this stage must, by now, have only one goal in mind; and that is to reach university. This is because they have opted for time in Form Six.

"The best motivation is to look at those who have been here before you, and how they managed to reach for the best in education by entering university as well as other higher learning institutions," he said.

Benedict said, however, in life there are many roads that lead to success. He urged everyone, especially students, not to be discouraged by failure, but consider them as an obstacle that would stir them to a better ideal in life.

He said this when officiating the Majlis Makan Malam Tingkatan 6 SMK Lohan Ranau organised by the Form Six Committee held at the school's Dewan Semelor, here, recently.

Meanwhile, committee Chairman, who is also the SMK Lohan Form Six Senior Assistant, Tjuman Salamat, said in previous years the former Form Six students found promising career paths in their lives.

"Many of the Form Six students here end up in universities, some pursue education in higher learning institutions, while others were offered places in special training programmes as well as job opportunities.

"Let this be a motivation to all Form Six students, not only here, but elsewhere too that one must have a positive outlook in life so whatever the field they end up in, they must be successful in their position," he said.

The event was co-ordinated by Form Six students who attended the event in suits and fancy dresses, while highlighting activities like singing performances, dances and lucky draws, among others. - Clarence GD
