Car and m-cycle theft syndicate crippled, 3 held

Kota Kinabalu: Police have crippled a syndicate known as "Gang Wan" specialised in stealing cars and motorcycles in several districts before selling their parts via social media.City Police Chief ACP Habibi Majinji said the gang, whose leader is known as Wan, was busted following months of surveillance. He said Wan was arrested on Nov 5 at Kampung Sembulan Lama.ADVERTISEMENT Following interrogation, police managed to track down two more gang members and arrested them the following day at Kg Muhibbah Maktab Sabah."We recovered three cars and three motorcycles including vehicle components which have been reported stolen in neighbouring districts," he told a press conference here, Friday.Habibi said the suspects, aged between 24 and 30, were also found positive on drugs and they have past criminal records involving theft, robbery and drugs.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
