Melaka: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) members are urged to continue caring for the people in the same manner as when they were in the opposition before the 14th General Election (GE14), said Melaka Amanah Chairman Adly Zahari (pic). The Melaka Chief Minister said Amanah members should take lessons from what happened to Barisan Nasional (BN) in the GE14 when the party (BN) was swayed by posts and positions thereby forgetting their responsibilities to the people."Why not continue (caring for the people) after becoming the government. We used to collect clothes for the needy and sell cheap candies for the people, we must be progressive, so the concern (for the people) must be there.ADVERTISEMENT "The appointed Village Community Management Council (MPKK) must introduce themselves to every home so people know what the MPKK is and how we can help the people," he said at the Melaka Amanah Convention in Ayer Keroh here, Sunday. The convention was inaugurated by Amanah Vice-President Hasanuddin Mohd Yunus who is also Member of Parliament for Hulu Langat, and was attended by about 1,000 members of the party.Adly said, Amanah members should also understand that in the system of democracy people have the power to change the government as it did in GE14 if it fails the people.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"The challenges are many, but we must continue to care about the people, in GE14 the people replaced Umno BN, they can do the same to Pakatan Harapan (PH) unless we care about them," he said.ADVERTISEMENT Meanwhile, Hasanuddin told reporters after officiating the convention that Amanah members, whether holding posts or not, need to be instrumental in working to help the people and the party. – Bernama
