“We should be grateful for having been given the opportunity to improve and correct all administrative weaknesses.
“I call on the leaders and the people not to neglect the opportunity to plan a better future for the State. Take what has happened as a lesson or it is bound to be repeated,” he said at the investiture in conjunction with his 71st birthday, at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, here.
The Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, and their two children, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin, and Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin were also present at the event.

He placed high hopes that the government leadership, administrative machinery and the people would strengthen their will and determination to develop further their ability to improve in terms of efficiency, transparency and accountability in facing whatever challenges ahead.
He said that through his observation the level of social relations between the various races was very low compared to 30 or 40 years ago.
The Ruler said this could be clearly seen through the social clubs or certain non-governmental organisations where only one specific race dominated the membership or office bearers of a particular association.
“In a multi-racial country like Malaysia, social relations between the various races played a very important role. It would result in a strong sense of understanding and mutual respect for the various religions and cultures.
“A strong bond between the various races must be developed from a very young age. This could be inculcated through physical sporting activities and games based on intellectual strength such as draughts and esports, as well as co-curriculum activities such as the Scouting Association, Girl Guides, Red Crescent Society and others,” Tuanku Muhriz said.
The Ruler also said the state government must improve the provision of infrastructure and modern facilities for the prosperity of the rakyat.

“Efforts must also be enhanced particularly to promote continued investment from within and outside the country. This aspect is important in realising the state government’s intention to attract investment in high technology industries to create job opportunities for local residents in the state,” he said. – Bernama
