Gobind  announces new MDEC Chief exec
PUTRAJAYA:

Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo today announced the appointment of Surina Shukri as the new Chief Executive Officer of the  Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) for a three-year term, effective today.

Surina succeeds Datuk Yasmin Mahmood who resigned on Dec 7.

Gobind in a statement here said Surina, who spent a major part of her professional career in the United States, had now returned to Malaysia to take up the new role in  MDEC.

Surina has more than 20 years experience working in various multinationals especially JPMorgan Chase & Co and start-ups  in the finance, environment, energy and technology sectors.

Gobind said MDEC had succeeded in pioneering a digital economy in the country and contributed much for the benefit of the rakyat (people).

“I am confident Surina will work to continue building MDEC with her leadership qualities and experience and bring MDEC to greater heights not only in Malaysia but also on the world stage,” he added. – Bernama
