Flood-hit Beluran’s SK Sualok reopens

BELURAN: SK Sualok, here, Friday, has finally reopened after being badly affected by the recent flash flood.
State Education Director Mistirine Radin said the school was among three schools in the district that were forced to close due to the flood.

She said the water had subside in SK Sualok compared to SK Basai and SK Botition making the school comprised of 197 students and 14 teachers deemed fit to be on operation.
In another development, 20 villagers in Kg Tolongan, Pamol Beluran who were evacuated to the temporary evacuation centre after their houses were affected by flood had returned home, on Thursday.
District Civil Defence Force Chief Lt Ahmad Roslan said the victims comprised of 14 adults, four children, and two infants were evacuated to SK Pamol around 7am on Wednesday.

He said all victims were successfully sent home by the force and District Fire and Rescue Department to their respective houses.

However, he advised all villagers to be vigilant and cautious.
