Tempasuk Assemblyman joins Warisan
Kota Kinabalu: Tempasuk Assemblyman Datuk Musbah Jamli announced Friday that he has joined Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).

When asked the reason for his decision, Musbah, who is the former Umno Kota Belud Deputy Chief, said he made up his mind after much thought.

“I feel that Warisan, as a local party in the State, is the right platform to uphold the struggle for Sabahan rights,” he said at the PPNS building, here, Friday. He said his decision to join Warisan was also to safeguard development in his area.

“Suffice to say there are several development projects in my area that if I remained in the opposition, these projects would surely be at risk of being abandoned. Hence, I feel it would be better for me to accept Warisan’s offer to join it with an open heart.”

When asked if he had informed the other Umno Sabah-turned-independent assemblymen about his decision to join Warisan, Musbah said his initial intention was to join Parti Bersatu Bumiputera Malaysia (PPBM).

“However, I feel that as a peninsula-based party, it is no different to Umno. That’s why I feel it is better I join a local party (Warisan) instead to uphold the struggle of Sabahans.” Shafie said Warisan had accepted Musbah’s application to join the party as it would auger well for the State development and unity of the people as well as the welfare of the people in Tempasuk.

“With a better and more stable political environment in the State, I am confident it will allow development to be better managed and also help to attract more investors to the State.” - Neil Chan
