Sabah’s Scarlett in Miss Inter- continental Top 20

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s candidate for the 47th Miss Intercontinental pageant secured a Top 20 placement which was held at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Saturday.
Scarlett Megan Liew Zi Ling, who hails from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, was up against 83 other contestants from all over the world for the coveted crown which took place on Jan 8-26.

Scarlett was tagged a favourite by many, including Philippine designers and local press as one of the front runners for the crown.
As the competition format only allowed one representative for every continent for the final five, the Asia & Oceania slot was eventually awarded to Miss Philippines’ Karen Gallman who won the Miss Intercontinental title.
Coming in second and third placings were Adriana Moya Alvarado from Costa Rica and Slovakia’s Laura Longauerova.
Also completing the Top 20 were Colombia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, Paraguay, Thailand, Ukraine and United States.

Scarlett has a mix parentage of Sino-Kadazan and Filipino. Her mother hails from Toril, Davao City.
