KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah President Cup squad had it too easy in pre-season matches held in the  past one week as they chalked up huge wins in their last two matches.

The Under-21 team under veteran coach Justin Ganai thrashed Tuaran selection 9-0 at the Likas Synthetic pitch on Saturday.

In a one-sided match, they took a 4-0 lead in the first half before adding another five in the second half.

It was a similar story on Thursday at the Sukma field where they registered the same score line against Kota Belud selection with five goals in the first 45 minutes and another four in the second period of the match.

In the same venue two days earlier, they edged KDM Kota Marudu 2-0 and before that they beat the State Youth Cup selection 3-1 and JKR 8-0.

Justin assisted by Johnny Dominicus were using the matches to gauge the players’ progress as they prepare for the season opener against Pahang at Likas Stadium on February 21.

Their next match after the Pahang clash would be against UITM FC at Stadium UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor on February 28. – GL Oh
