PBRS’ Datuk Kadoh Agundong (Malalap) was replaced by PBS’ Malalap Youth chief Balasius Masuning.

Most of these constituencies were won by the PBS, then the opposition, during the 1999 State election. The party gained readmission into the BN in January last year after a 10-year absence.
