Sandakan: The Immigration Department here recorded only 5,081 Filipino illegal immigrants having left the country as of Dec. 28.Some 1,152 Filipinos left Tuesday comprising 587 males and 565 females.

Coming in the busloads towards the port the same day, they inevitably caused a heavy traffic congestion in their bid to beat the deadline. Some of the buses came from as far as Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Lahad Datu.
