Penang: A woman, who very often exchanged SMS with unknown individuals, was stabbed by her husband who suspected his wife was flirting with another man in Tanjung Bungah.
Northeast OCPD ACP Hamzah Md Jamil said the man stabbed his 30-year-old wife in the cheek and throat in their her house at about 4am and then rushed her to the Penang Hospital.
He told the doctor that his wife was injured in a robbery but the woman said she was stabbed by his husband out of jealousy.
The police picked up the husband after the doctor lodged a report, he told reporters.
In another case, a 23-year-old mother gave chase and successfully nabbed a woman thief who snatched her daughter's gold necklace at a night market in Ayer Itam yesterday.
The thief's accomplice, also a woman, managed to flee with the necklace in the 8.30pm incident. - Bernama
