Themed "Harmony in Diversity", this year's fest highlights Sabah's traditional tolerance in diversity through an anchor presentation of a mock mixed Bajau and Murut wedding ceremony where the respective marriage customs and traditions were followed.

Applauding spectators for a fantastic show included a group of parliamentarians who headed straight to the venue from the airport immediately after landing!

Head of State Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah beat the gong seven times to launch the event, which includes a second pay-to-see (RM30) show at the same venue today (Sunday) and two more days of wide ranging traditional cultural activities at the Heritage Village in the Sabah Museum.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman was present, so were his deputies Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Datuk Yahya Hussein and Minister of Culture , Tourism and Environment Datuk Masidi Manjun.
