Kuala Lumpur: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) aims to attract two million users for its Maybankard Visa Debit with a transactional value of over RM2 billion by year-end.
Its Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer Banking, Lim Hong Tat said the Visa Debit card allowed customers to transact in over 26 million Visa merchants worldwide.
"In Malaysia itself, it has over 60,000 cards merchants currently. In addition, Maybank has a distributional strength of 380 branches, ensuring the needs of the customers are met," he said.
Customers are also able to access its online site, Maybank2u, where they can review their statements and make payments, he told a press conference Tuesday.
Maybank has already attracted one million users for its Maybankard Visa Debit card since its launch in March last year with a total debit volume sales of RM1.2 billion in 2008. - Bernama
