57 awards to be presented

Kota Kinabalu: The 22nd Malaysian Film Festival (FMM22) promises Sabahans a memorable experience with 57 awards to be presented to the winners on Aug. 5-8 at 1Borneo.

Starting on Aug 5, there would be 39 awards to be given away at Centre Atrium, 1Borneo. Then on Awards Night on Aug 8, 18 awards and special jury awards would be presented at the Chancellor Hall, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

Several programmes have been lined up during the Meet Film Stars session on Aug 5 at the ground floor of Centre Point Sabah (CPS) from 2.30pm until 3.30pm.

Among the artists that are going to be present are Datin Umi Kalsom, Salmah Ahmad, Latifah Omar, Mat Sentul, Tony Castello, Zaini Sattar, Dayang Sofea and Suraya Haron.

Film buffs will also have the opportunity to meet with their favourite actors and actresses on Aug. 6 at City Hall starting 10.30am until 11.30am.

Those who wish to attend the Awards Night on Aug. 8 have a chance to win free tickets at City Hall.

There would be also a Film Symposium and Appreciation programme on Aug. 6-7 at UMS Recital Hall while on Aug. 3-7, a workshop on video production would be held at UMS while scriptwriting and acting workshop at City Hall's Education Centre in Kingfisher.

For those who have acquired free tickets to watch films competing in the event, the shows will start on Aug. 6-8 at Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) at 1Borneo and GSC in Kota Kinabalu.

Among films to be shown on Aug 6 at GSC 1Borneo are Talentime, Antoo Fighter, Sifu and Tongga and Budak Kelantan while at GSC Kota Kinabalu, Bohsia: Jalan Pilih Jalan Hitam, Geng and Rasukan Ablasa.

On Aug. 7, GSC 1Borneo will be showing Kami The Movie, Senario The Movie, Selamat Pagi Cinta and Brainscan: Aku Dan Topi Ajaib while at GSC Kota Kinabalu, Jangan Tegus, Cicakman, Tipu Kanan Tipu Kiri.

On Aug 8, GSC 1Borneo will be showing Syurga Cinta, Maut and Histeria while GSC Kota Kinabalu, Sayang You Can Dance, Jomlah C.I.U.M and Los & Faun.
