Kota Kinabalu: Police are trying to ascertain if others were involved in a sodomy case involving seven secondary school students here.
A 34-year-old man, believed to be a staff of a school here, was detained several days ago in connection with the incident, said City Police Chief, ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria.
He said police picked up the man after the students lodged their respective reports. Police are still trying to verify the reports, he said, adding the boys, aged 15 and above, have been sent for medical examination.
"We are still conducting the investigations and we will get the forensic results to corroborate the allegations," he said.
"The suspect, who we believe is married, committed the crime at various places, some of them in hotel rooms and in houses," Ahmad Sofi said.
