Reminder on expiry of advert licences

Published on: Sunday, November 22, 2009

Kota Kinabalu: All advertisement licence holders and contractors are reminded that their licences will expire on Dec 31.

Mayor Datuk Iliyas Ibrahim said any advertisement displayed after the date would be deemed illegal and City Hall reserves the right to revoke any licence without assigning any reason to do so.

The advertisement licence holders and contractors would be given a month's notice effective from the date of the notification letter issued by City Hall on Nov 20.

In a statement by City Hall Public Relations Office, Syron Tunggolou, Iliyas stressed it was a mandatory requirement that any application for advertisement licence renewal shall be accompanied with the necessary documents. The application must be submitted on or before Dec 20.

Iliyas said City Hall will remove any illegal billboard and/or compound and/or proceed with legal actions against those failing to adhere to the directive, without further notice.
