Tawau guard dies while on duty

Tawau: A security guard was found dead behind a supermarket at Pasar Tanjung Tuesday. He had been working barely over a year near.

A Milimewa Supermarket worker was walking behind the building when he found the body of Abdul Rahim Dilamin, 59, who was believed to have suffered a heart attack at about 7.30am.

The body was found clad in security guard uniform and there were no visible signs of injuries. Abdul was stationed at the supermarket after having joined the security firm, Sekawan, about 15 months ago.

The supermarket supervisor, Palanchoi Nasal, 41, said he had spoken to the victim, who had a weak heart, the night before for half an hour.

He did not notice anything unusual about Abdul, he said, adding he left about 30 minutes after midnight.

The victim's remains were claimed by family members for burial at Kg Titingan here.
