Kota Kinabalu: Four boys can count themselves lucky after escaping with only mild injuries in a mishap here late Monday.They were headed to the Suria shopping complex in the city when the 17-year-old driver lost control of the car. It skidded before ending up wedged in a drain at about 11.30pm.Due to being driven at high speed, the car screeched about 60ft while sandwiched between the walls of the drain before coming to a halt.

The driver was sent to the hospital. The friends were aged between 17 and 20.

Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man escaped unscathed after a collision with a four-wheel drive caused almost all the front portion of his van to be wrecked, Tuesday.
The man was headed to the city centre while the other vehicle, driven by a 62-year-old man, had just exited Sunny Garden near here when the mishap occurred at about 3.30pm.
