Boy loses hand to grinder
Kota Kinabalu: A 14-year-old employee of an eatery chain below the former Stamford College premises lost his right hand to a meat grinder, Thursday.The local victim known as Amrin was grinding meat at the eatery when his hand was sucked into the grinder. The Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 8.23pm.

Firemen tried to open the grinder and free the boy's hand but gave up 10 minutes later and called the ambulance.

The ambulance rushed him to hospital but failed to save his hand as it was badly damaged.

The boy, who is staying in Segama, was believed to have used his hand, instead of a chopstick, to push the meat into the grinder when the incident occurred.
