Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah FA has reminded its players that it would not hesitate to take action against players who indulge in activities against the FA's disciplinary regulations.Sabah FA Secretary General, Alijus Sipil said in light of the team's return to the M-League top tier, players should be more focused on enhancing their performance instead of leisurely indulging in activities which could jeopardise the reputation of the FA."Let this be a reminder to all State players that the Sabah FA would not tolerate players who refuse to abide by disciplinary regulations.ADVERTISEMENT "All State players are expected to distance themselves from all activities which can interfere with their ability to focus and perform as professional footballers for the state," he said.Alijus made these remarks in relation to the case of Gasili Pengalot who has rejoined the team after being suspended in December for allegedly indulging in the local night scene."Gasili has been allowed to train with the team after being content with the show cause letter issued by the FA."He gave his assurance to the FA that he would not neglect his discipline, whether on or off the pitch and that he would remain fully committed to the team from here on forth.ADVERTISEMENT "We hope he embraces this opportunity fully him and not repeat his actions, which in the view of the FA was detrimental to its reputation," said Alijus. The defender's return to training is seen as a positive development in view of recent events, which have depleted the squad after being plagued with bouts of injuries including on some of the Gary Phillips' new signings.
