Kota Kinabalu: A 78-year-old farmer had a shock of his life when his son suddenly threatened him with a Samurai sword, asking for money. The May 10 incident took place at about 4pm in Kg. Pagalungan, Telipok after the son had just come home from a drinking session.

The suspect held the sword to his father's head and said 'saya mau kasih mati sama kau' (I want to kill you), when the father refused to give him any money.

Deputy City Police Chief, Supt Ramli Ali Mat said the suspect in his 30s was drunk at the time and will be brought in for questioning under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

He advised the public not to get too drunk to avoid doing things they might regret later on.

"Kaamatan is coming soon, so of course people will be drinking more than what they usually do, but just make sure there is a limit and don't over do it," he advised.

Meanwhile, Ramli said the case of a legal firm getting broken into in Asia City recently is still under investigation.

The case happened on May 11 resulting in losses of more than RM40,000 in cash and property.

"However we will bring the culprits in after looking at the CCTV recording from the offices below," he said.

He also said a pair of gloves believed left by the robber was found on the scene.
