Kota Kinabalu: Food lovers will be able to sample a variety of local, Asian and Western dishes in 20 participating restaurants during "KK Food Fest - A Tasty Turn of Events" from July 9 to 22.
The first food festival here is organised by Malaysia's premier online lifestyle magazine, LifeAndStyle.com.my.
Its Director, Elson Kho, said the crux of the KK Food Fest is to discover and promote varied dining options in the city and catering not only to dedicated gourmands but also those who just simply love food.
He said participants of the event include restaurants attached to hotels, Food & Beverages outlets, qualified chain eateries and wine suppliers.
"The food event encourages delicious experimenting by way of a specially designed 'Festival Menu' available only throughout the duration of the festival at the participating restaurants.
"The festival will also feature four fringe events which will run during the festival, namely Asian Tourism Institution (ATI) presentation, an introduction to Sabah Ingredients & Cuisine by Wendy Hutton of Lemon Grass Cooking School, a Wine & Dine Evening with CornerStone, and an Introduction to Wine by Meng Tan of Winecellars," he said.
Other highlights, he said, include an interactive Dine & Win contest and voting for the People's Choice Award from among the 20 restaurants.
