Discussion on access to Archives documents

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Journalists Association (SJA) has initiated a discussion with the State Archives on the possibility of allowing local journalists to have access to historical documents when writing on subjects related to important events in the past.Towards this end, a preliminary discussion was held between SJA led by President Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and the State Archives led by its Deputy Director Majella Tan Marquez recently.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Majella assured the SJA that she will bring up the matter to incoming Archives Director Sairin Melin when he reports for duty in the middle of this month.ADVERTISEMENT During the meeting, the SJA officials were given a tour of the various sections of the archives and shown preserved historical newspapers which have been kept for more than 60 years.
