STPM: 14 Sabah schools record 100pc

Kota Belud: A total 5,664 or 88.7 per cent of candidates attained full passes at least in one subject in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2011 compared to 88.5pc in 2010 in Sabah.State Education Deputy Director, Hajah Maimunah Haji Suhaibul, said of this about 113 candidates achieved five principles, while another 2,199 passed with four principles. Announcing this in SMK Arshad, Wednesday, she said 14 schools in Sabah recorded a 100 per cent passing percentage.

They were SMK Benoni Papar, KK High School, SMK Agama Mohamad Ali Ranau, SMK Kunak, SMK Tenggilan Tuaran, SMK Jalan Apas Tawau, SMK Agama Tun Sakaran Semporna, SM La Salle Kota Kinabalu, SMK Keningau II, SMK Segama Lahad Datu, SMK Lok Yuk Likas, SMK Lohan Ranau, SMK Kota Klias Beaufort and SM Sung Siew Sandakan.

The top students for Sabah STPM 2011 were Nur Farah Nissa Mohd Effendy from SM La Salle Kota Kinabalu who scored 4As with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4 and Chang Sin Fung for the Science stream who also scored 4As and a CGPA of 4.

Twenty-eight candidates from Sabah scored 4As (six of them in Science stream).
