Terengganu: The Terengganu Football Association is expected to convene an emergency council meeting on Nov 11, to determine the fate of sacked former Terengganu coach Peter Butler.Terengganu FA president Datuk Che Mat Jusoh said the association's supreme council would meet to decide if Butler, who was unlawfully sacked, would be reinstated or whether former Felda United coach E. Elavarasan would be appointed to lead the squad in 2013.

Elavarasan was picked to replace Butler who was initially handed a six-month suspension and RM4,000 fine by the FA for issuing statements to the press without prior approval from the association.

Butler later appealed to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) who declared his suspension and termination was null and void.

"He (Butler) came to see me this morning and we had a discussion but nothing was finalised," he told reporters when met at his office here Wednesday.

Che Mat added that though the Terengganu FA had initially terminated the services of Butler, they (FA) would abide by FAM's decision.

Meanwhile, Butler when met after his meeting with Che Mat said he was hoping for a favourable decision on Sunday (Nov 11).

"I don't want to look back at what it is but rather look forward and concentrate on the future in terms of what decision is made.

"I'm trying to be fair to Terengganu so that they can move forward.

I also had to follow the rule which has been passed down by FAM," he said. - Bernama
