Kota Kinabalu: The people should be wise in evaluating Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin's performance and effectiveness when he was holding several key positions in the government, the Sabah Barisan Nasional Secretaries meet heard, Thursday.
"I'm certain the people of Sabah will be truly surprised if they were to scrutinise his actions when he (Lajim) was Minister or Assistant Minister in the Government," said Sabah BN Secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
The Kota Belud Member of Parliament said that "lately, he (Lajim) had made several big statements in the media which favoured the opposition pact although he was not a member of any opposition party except being chairman of a movement (Pertubuhan Pakatan Perubahan Rakyat)."
Sabah BN also questioned the integrity of the opposition in helming the State as it has failed to submit the list of its shadow Cabinet as promised.
Abdul Rahman said the opposition pact had also not demonstrated solidarity and a spirit of consensus among the component parties.
He said the opposition pact lately suggested that Lajim, who is a former Umno Supreme Council member, to be the Sabah Chief Minister if the opposition were to win the general election.
Abdul Rahman, called on the people, especially the Sabahans, to vote for the BN government based on its track record such as the implementation of the Government Transformation Programme (GTP), Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) and the National Key Result Area (NKRA).
Earlier, Abdul Rahman chaired the Sabah BN secretaries meeting which was also attended by the general secretary of the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Datuk Henrynus Amin and general secretary of the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun and Murut Organisation (Upko), Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau. - Bernama
