According to District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Severinus Mohd Nizam, a team comprising seven personnel led by Basni Samingan rushed to the scene following a distress call at 11.23am.
He said the fire which destroyed the principal's and teachers' offices, pantry and the library was brought under control at 12.25pm with the last flames being put out at 1.20pm.
"The fire and rescue team faced a slight problem with the communication network while at the scene.
"However, we managed to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the building, particularly the pre-school and science laboratory," he said.
He said the cause of fire and estimated losses are still being investigated.
