Hiew said there are times when the jam could stretch up to three to four kilometres on both directions of the KK-Menggatal road.
"The main problem is the roundabout in Inanam town, and this is causing a major jam," he said in a statement, here.
He said the situation has been happening for at least seven years as the said roundabout could no longer handle the traffic flow but instead has aggravated the traffic situation.
"This could be explained by cars coming into and out of the Kionsom turn, mini buses stopping indiscriminately to drop and pick off passengers in the nearby area, consequently interrupting traffic flow especially during peak hours," he said.
He said there have been a huge sum of money spent to improve the Tuaran road, however, the authorities seemed not bothered to rectify the situation, including replacing the road lights.
Hiew said the growing number of public complaints over the road was a clear indication the matter has reached a serious level.
