He said Insp. Zulkifli Mamat, 29, was promoted to ASP and Cpl Sabarudin Daud, 46, to sergeant.
"I had discussed with (Deputy Inspector-General of Police) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar on the promotion of our two national heroes," he said.
Najib said the Government and the police would look into other aid and that their families would be informed of the matter after the burial.
"We will not forget the services and sacrifices of our two national heroes," he said.
Meanwhile, Khalid said the Royal Malaysia Police were touched by the sacrifice of the commandos.
On the situation in Lahad Datu, Khalid said the information could only be provided by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar and Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib.
Khalid also conveyed his condolences to the families of the slain commandos. - Bernama
