Kuala Lumpur: The life of the eight security personnel killed in the standoff with Sulu terrorists in Sabah will be made into a film.
Producer Datuk Yusof Haslam said plans for a movie were still in their initial stages, adding that filming would only start once the situation in Lahad Datu and Semporna were back to normal.
"Some people have asked me if I wanted to produce a film about the attack in Lahad Datu and Semporna.
For me, I do not have any problem with it, especially in highlighting their contributions after they died for the country," he said.
Yusof, who has produced films of similar genre such as the long-running police drama series Gerak Khas, said he would have a better understanding of such movies.
"I intend to do it. It will accord a special recognition towards the fallen and their families," he said, adding that the film could also boost patriotism among movie-goers.
