Kota Kinabalu: Several irresponsible people shot and damaged an electrical installation of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) in Kampung Pangas Ulu, Keningau, early on Saturday, causing a disruption in power supply to 20 consumers in the village, according to SESB. Its Senior General Manager (asset management), Ahmad Fuad Md Kasim, said SESB detected traces of gunshots on the Aeriel Bundle Cable (ABC) in the area on Monday.
However, electricity supply to the area was restored on Monday, he said in a statement Tuesday.
He said SESB took some time to detect the damage and restore electricity supply owing to the adverse weather condition and the main access road which was unsafe for heavy vehicles.
Ahmad Fuad said consumers were encouraged to contact the 15454 hotline or 088-515000 if they experienced any disruption in power supply.
Consumers could also send an SMS by typing SESBR
complaint to 33154, he said, adding that all complaints would be acted upon immediately.
