Kota Kinabalu: An injury time penalty missed by Shazree Ruhip left the Sabah President Cup squad returning with only a point after a goalless draw with Kuala Lumpur at the KLFA stadium on Monday.Sabah were given the golden opportunity at the death to gain maximum points after Rexjeson was fouled inside the box but the right back who took the spot kick struck the post instead.

Sabah had only themselves to blame and they could have won the match easily as they controlled the game from the start according to Matsan Ahmad who was helping out assistant coach Burhan Ajui as coach Justin Ganai did not travel with the team.

Matasan who was the assistant to Johnny Dominicus en route to the historic Sukma gold for the State football team last year said it was overall a poor performance from the players.

"There is no doubt that the team can play but the most important thing in a match like this is to score and they failed in this aspect and it cost us dearly."
