Kota Kinabalu: Albright Chong is still within sight of the title going into the final round of the Malaysian National Amateur Championship at the Royal Pahang Golf Club today.He shot a three over on Saturday and finished with a three-day total of three-under 210.
He remained in third place, four shots behind overnight leader Kevin Marques who shot a two-over 74 in the third round.
When contacted he said the pressure was just too great although he tried to stay calm throughout the day.
"It wasn't what I have anticipated but I am glad that I am still within touching distance of the leaders and I promise to give my best tomorrow."
The best Sabahans on the day was Fazley Chua who shot another par-71 to finish with a three-day total of 219 while Solomon Emilio Rosidin had a two over 73 and ended the round with a one-over 214.
Two other members of the Sabah contingent who were sent there by the Sabah Golf Association in prepration for the Perlis Sukma Games next year had an off day with Jordon Mobijohn carded an eight over 79 and ended with a three total of 230 while Zariq Encho shot a 10-over and 235 total.
