Kota Kinabalu: Johnson Koh has been re-elected unopposed as President of the Sabah Tennis Association (STA) for another term at their AGM held at a leading hotel here in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday.There was a record attendance as for the first time seven affiliates have each sent a maximum of 5 delegates following the new constitution approved by the Sabah Sports Commissioner.
There was a contest for the Deputy Presidents post and incumbent Ghani Affandi of Kota Kinabalu managed to retain his post with 18 votes to five victory over his challenger Sunil Manohara from Sandakan.
The five new Exco or committee members are Hj. Aldana Madiran (Tawau) 23 votes; Slamat K (Kudat)16 votes; Md Hashim (Labuan) 16 votes; Jocyelene Lee Sunil (Sandakan) 16 votes and Betty Pang Chong (KK) 16 votes.
Johnson said it was good to see two ladies members in the Exco as it augers well for the association so that more ladies will be able to assist the association.
He added that the Honourable Secretary and Honourable Treasurer posts will be appointed at the first Exco meeting to be called after the inter affiliates tournament.
