Kota Kinabalu: Minister of Community Development and Community Affairs, Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, said the hike in the price of goods is not the Barisan Nasional's (BN) fault.She said claims of price hikes were the BN's doing was just a gimmick of the opposition parties.

She said this at a press conference at the City Mosque here prior to delivering a speech in conjunction with the MBR Carnival from May 24 to May 31 (9am to 10pm).

Jainab said the price increase was due to individual parties or business suppliers/owners.

"If there are irresponsible parties involved in this, and you know about it, please report them to the authorities.

We will also play our part in making sure that this will be taken care of and appropriate punishment will be given," she said.
