Tenom: A stiff fight is expected in the selection of new committee members for the Tenom Tionghua Entrepreneurs Association during its elections on June 23. Its Chairman Datuk Teo Ming Chung who has held the post for three terms admitted that there are certain groups who intend to contest the existing committee members.
Meanwhile, an opposing group lead by Yong Yun Ching who is also the Tenom Hakka General Secretary said they are not satisfied with the current committee members, thus they will contest them.
"Our slogan is 'change to a new leader for a better solution for the association and its members'," he said, adding that they will contest all 21 posts including five sub-committee posts.
"Win or lose, we leave it to the association's members to choose us or maintain the existing committee members, June 23 will be a historical day for this association, thus we hope every member will come and cast their votes," he said.
The association has 136 members.
