Kota Kinabalu: Albright Chong and Vivienne Chin will represent the country at the Putra and Santi Cup competition to be held in Manila at Sherwood Hill golf Club from June 27- 30.The Putra Cup regarded as the official Southeast Asian team golf championship will see Albright making his maiden appearance having twice played in the junior Lions Cup competition and helped them to finish as runner-up last year.
Albright the winner of two gold medals, individual and team event in the last Sukma caught the eyes of the national body after an impressive outing at the recent Malaysan Amateur Open where he was in contention for the title until the final round.
He will be joined by Gavin Green (KL), Low Khai Jei ( Perak ) Abel Tam, (Johor) for the elite men competition.
Sabah's USA-based MGA player, Vivien Chin, who is studying as well as playing for the University of Tennessee is back on holidays and she will join Kelly Tan of Johor and Michelle Koh of Pahang in the Elite Shanti cup.
The duo left for Kuala Lumpur on Monday for the national Team Training camp where the first session will begin today at the KLGCC.
They will spend three days with their respective team mates before continuing their training session at the Sherwood Hill golf Club on July 22 until July 25.
