Sandakan: About 15 Malaysian prisoners were selected to celebrate Father's and Mother's Day at a Kaamatan festival which took place at the district prison, Tuesday.Abd Rauf Lang Pasih, deputy enforcement operation officer said only those selected were given the opportunity to meet their loved ones. "

And selection is based on certain criteria and evaluation."

"Through this programme, apart from getting support from family members, the celebration also aims to foster good relations, unity, culture and love."

Selected candidates and family members who were interviewed were grateful for the opportunity given to them.

"This is due to my past hectic lifestyle. Sadly, I was unable to properly spend time with my family."

About 855 prisoners were recorded in Sandakan prison as of June 18, 2013 and out of this, 797 are men.
