Lahad Datu: Rumors of a curfew here on Sept. 28 is not true and people are advised not to believe it.
District Acting Police Chief, ASP Ang Seow Aun said security and situation in Lahad Datu is under control and the public should not be worried.
He said the rumours were spread by irresponsible parties to create chaos and police are conducting further investigations on the rumors.
"We have receive a lot of reports about the rumours, especially after the intrusion incident in Kg Tanduo.
However, further investigation found that the rumors are just rumors and false.
"People are advised to not trust any rumours and refer to the authorities in the event of any rumours for confirmation,"he said.
Ang also warned that any party found spreading rumours could be charged under Section 505 of the Penal Code.
