Kota Kinabalu: PERFORMER Peter Dicky Lee with body builders and gym operators visiting critically ill ex-Mr Sabah Philip Kating at the Sabah Medical Centre (SMC) Damai Thursday.

Seven times Mr Sabah since the 90's, Kating was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) when he suffered a stroke about a week ago and his condition has rapidly deteriorated since.

Peter headed the Sabah Body Building Association in the 1990's when Sabah body builders in the likes of Justin Sompong, James Mungkit, Geonod Lojitin, Conrad Tsen, Steven Kok, Augustine Ekin and Philip Kating dominated the scene.

"He has brought glory to Sabah by winning gold in his category in many competitions during my tenure as president of Sawba.

I'm very proud of his achievements and hope that the State Government will take steps to do something to help him and his family during this difficult time as a recognition of his many achievements during his hey day as a body builder.

"For that matter, many other notable body builders past and present deserve to be recognized for their exploits and achievements not just within Sabah or Malaysia but in the international arena as well."

Peter also appealed to kind-hearted Sabahans to donate generously to the wife and family of Philip Kating in their time of need to help them meet the medical expense and other expenses.

A special fund in his name and account number will be set up.

"Please donate what you can, however small as long as it comes from the heart," said Peter.
