Kota Kinabalu: The Customs Department has returned all the 191 cartons of cigarettes seized from a shop on Dec 4 last year after duties were found to have been paid.
The items produced by Global Tobacco Manufacturers (International) Sdn Bhd were seized and investigated under Section 135 (1) (e) of the 1967 Customs Act.
Global Tobacco Manufacturers (International) Sdn Bhd Director, M C Voo said following investigation by the Customs Department and assisted by his company it was found that everything is in order.
The cigarettes were returned on Dec 24 last year and the rest (151 cartons) have been returned to the shopowners by the department on Wednesday.
